David Foster Presentation

Monday, March 26, 2012

MAE proudly hosted David Foster, an international sculptor who graduated from Maquoketa High School and currently resides in Lake Tahoe, California. He spoke to a crowd of nearly 60 people at MAE and stayed for an hour after his presentation to answer questions from the audience.
David sculpts both in marble and in bronze. He personally selects his marble from the same quarries in Pietrasanta, Italy that Michelangelo selected his marble. Throughout his dynamic, engaging presentation, David shared how he selects the marble, decides what the piece will become, how the marble is shipped through the Panama Canal and on to San Francisco, and other stages of his marble and bronze sculpting processes. He also showed images of some of his sculptures and his studios in Lake Tahoe and Italy. To find out more about David and his art, visit www.davidfostersculpture.com
