Plein Air Art makes Alzheimer’s Walk Memorable
For the artists:
Plein Air Saturday September 25th during Alzheimer Walk in Maquoketa from 7:00 am till 3:00 pm. We ask all participating artists who choose to paint on the route of the walk to begin painting by 8:30, so the walkers have something to look at.
Artists can find their own spot along the walk and into the Prairie Creek Recreation Area. Be aware that what you take in, you have to take out. This also applies to dirty painting water, or a brush cleaner medium. Artists have to bring their own supplies.
The Alzheimer’s Walk starts at 9:00 am at the YMCA to Prairie Creek Recreation Area and back to YMCA.
At 4:00 pm (Saturday, September 25th) a live auction from the that day created artworks (framed or unframed) will be held at the Maquoketa Art Experience (MAE) 124 S Main Street Maquoketa.
Make sure your work will be at MAE no later then 3:15 pm on Saturday September 25th.
20% of the proceeds will go to Alzheimer’s, 20% of the proceeds will go to MAE and 60% will be for the artists who created the work that day. During the auction snacks and drinks will be available.
