Woodcarver at Work: MAE Studio hosts Neil Cox

Friday, June 7-Sunday, June 9, 2013

Woodcarver, Neil Cox, set up out in front of MAE and used our space as his studio.
Neil Cox’s primary interest is in figurative sculpture. He is fascinated with story telling and tries to capture some of its magic in his pieces. He sculpts mostly in wood and stone but has also completed several large bronze pieces. He also enjoys working with other media: sand, snow, ice, clay, and computer modeling. He is essentially self-taught, but his training has included work with a number of experienced artists here and abroad. Neil lives in Toronto with his partner, Kathryn, and their three children.
