James Walker Henry (born 1961) – An American surrealist painter living in Burlington , Iowa, Heartland of the U.S. For more than 40 years, Henry has created over 2,000 pieces of art addressing social and political issues through his paint and brush. His works are symbolic and metaphoric, dealing with items and issues that have effected many people through out time. When starting a piece of art, his vision is broken down into items and ideas, hoping this can help the viewer understand the reasoning of the painting. Some people have felt his art as being beautiful and inspiring, while others may feel it as being somewhat harsh and disturbing. The viewer attending a James Walker Henry exhibit , like it or not, will always remember his works of art.
