Life Through the Lens; The Evolution of a Painter, by Tim Rees.pdf
Immerse yourself in all the aspects of life, filtered through the lens of an artist. From landscape to still life, touching scenes of every day life to fleets of fancy, Timothy Rees demonstrates his keen ability to reproduce the world in oil paint. By combining his highly developed realism with dynamic abstract mark making, the paintings in this show bring a poetic note to the otherwise ordinary world around us.
This comprehensive exhibit features work from his entire 10 years of painting, affording the viewer a glimpse into the evolution of the artist. It offers examples from his early career of impressionistic realism, to an exploration of classical techniques, to a body inspired by art nouveau, to his current naturalistic work. The show includes artwork ranging from portrait sketches to award winning paintings, providing a glimpse into all facets of the artist’s world. As Henri once said, “I am interested in art as a means of living a life; not as a means of making a living.”
