Come See Diane L. Murtha’s Contemporary Fiber Art in the North Gallery during August and September, 2024 at Maquoketa Art Experience.

Diane has magically transformed textiles into beautiful pieces of contemporary fiber art. Follow her visual journey and growth from crafting beautiful traditional quilts to art quilts, and into modern works. Initially influenced by her grandmother, Diane expanded her skills by participating in quilt challenges, each stretching her to learn or try something new, as well as developing her own unique techniques to create the looks she envisioned.

Then read about the stories behind the quilts in her new book Artful Insights in Fiber: Quilted Bits of Wit & Wisdom.

The Gallery is free and open to the public. Donations are Welcome.

Artist Reception & Book Signing: Saturday, August 3, 2-4 PM

Get ready to be inspired by Diane’s stunning fiber art quilts!

In this first collection, Diane shares 40 gorgeous full-color images

of her fiber art quilts. Blending art, traditional, and modern techniques

in original contemporary designs, Diane reveals her delusions of grandeur,

successes, and epic failures, along with the stories that inspired each

beautiful textile piece. Art enthusiasts, fiber artists, anyone who admired

a quilt, or enjoys a craft hobby will be inspired by her art, wit, and wisdom.
