As a recently converted poet, Koada is interested in genre-bending, narrative pieces. They enjoy working with experimental and expansive poetry and fiction. As a Montana native, they have a particular interest in writing about rural life and spaces. As a descendant of the Brothertown tribe, in Wisconsin, and a former resident of the Salish-Kootenai reservation, she loves working with stories inspired by oral storytelling, folklore, and mythology. She believes in pushing the boundaries of institutional expectations to deliver compelling, raw, and innovative writing.
